In my house, I have an atrium and a sunroom. I like to have a small patio set in the atrium, and a larger table and chair set in the sunroom.

The patio set consists of a small round table (approximately 4′ in diameter) made of a dark walnut wood, as well as two matching chairs.

My dining room set is a plain, unfinished pine (or at least, pine look alike) table and 4 chairs from IKEA.

They were chosen because of the low price of $40 for the table and $20 for the chairs except for the fact that I got 2 of the chairs from the as is section for a reduced price).

I like my bedroom furniture it has taken some time to get all the right pieces together

Bedroom is loft conversion, mattress on floor, 3 year old ‘tiny’ 42″ pc in against wall.

Leather sofa facing, pc desk to left with old xp pc, laptop in front of sofa of coffee table, small draws next to TV with printer on with cupboard door on other side.

Then 5 other small/medium sized beech wood storage containing books clothes files.

My dining room has been furbished from the IKEA catalog.

It is primarily light beech in color, with blue covers on the six chairs.

The Beech effect table is large enough to accommodate 8 diners in comfort, and can be expanded to accommodate 10.

Our bedroom furniture consists of a king-size bed which has black metal bed stead.

We have a wooden dressing table with mirrors and a large wardrobe with mirrored doors.

Two bedside cabinets which are pine allow bed-side lights for reading. All the furniture except the dressing table was bought from IKEA.

My bedroom is very small, but I’ve managed to stuff it with a lot of furniture.

I have a huge desk from K-Mart. Sure it’s not the classiest place in the world to be buying furniture for the long term, but it was what I could afford at the time. It’s gigantic.

I love it. I wanted a desk I felt like I could live in, and this is definitely it. It was all kinds of special compartments and tons of room for everything I need to store.

In my home office I have a glass-top desk

In my home office I have a glass-top desk, which I purchased from Plummer’s about eight years ago. The frame is black metal tubing. I like the glass surface because it is easy to clean and it makes the desk seem smaller and lighter, so it doesn’t give the impression of dominating or crowding the room the way a wooden or metal desk does.

I have three short drawer units that sit under the desk in the same position that built-in drawers would take. I think I got them at Target. They are on wheels, so I can pull them out for easy access if I need to.

My living room is in a Victorian Tenement flat typical of where I live in Scotland. These buildings were designed to house the workforce of the newly industrialized city and have a typical look to them featuring red sandstone, high ceilings, bay windows and good proportions.

Traditionally each room would have housed a whole family, including a fireplace where all the cooking would have been done and a bed recess where they would sleep.
